A Christmas Message from the Mayor of Midsomer Norton

As we reflect on the year gone by and look ahead to the new one, I want to take this opportunity to send my warmest wishes to everyone in Midsomer Norton.

Once again, we’ve been reminded of what a wonderful place Midsomer Norton is to live in and be a part of. Our greatest strength lies in our strong sense of community, and it has been inspiring to see so many local groups, organisations, and businesses continuing to provide valuable support, activities, and services to our residents. This year has also brought some fantastic community events, including the recent Christmas Light Switch-On and Carnival, as well as the Summer Fayre and Music Festival earlier in the year.

If you’re able to, I encourage you to consider getting involved in our community in whatever way feels right for you—whether through volunteering, supporting local initiatives, or simply lending a hand to a neighbour in need.

In the year ahead, we are looking forward to many more exciting events and activities within the town. The redevelopment of the Island area and the refurbishment of the Town Hall should be completed early in the new year, allowing more opportunities for events and community use. With your support The Town Council will continue to strive to improve the lives and experiences of residents in whatever ways it can.

I know that for many, Christmas can be a challenging time, and I send my heartfelt thoughts to you. I hope that those who are struggling find a way to connect, whether with friends, family, or support networks.

On behalf of myself, the Midsomer Norton Councillors, and all our Council staff, I would like to wish each and every one of our residents a safe and joyful Christmas, filled with peace, love, and happiness. May the New Year bring renewed hope, health, and prosperity to all of us and to our vibrant community.

Warmest wishes,
Martyn Plant – Mayor of Midsomer Norton
